Six tonnes of oil are being refined every day in a rice bran oil facility in Battambang province, and its goods are ready to be sold in nearby marketplaces. The owner, Chhen Chandara, claims that the Covid-19 outbreak thwarted his plans to open the Sokhan rice bran oil facility, but that he is now back on track and moving forward. The purposes of establishment this rice bran oil factory is: 1). reducing exports of raw materials 2).reducing imports of finished products 3).decreasing the need for the workers to migrate 4).offering a reasonable substitute for pricey imported cooking oil items. There are numerous challenges in the production of rice bran oil because it is new in Cambodia such as a lack of clarity or regulation surrounding the import of certain necessary materials, according to Mr. Chandara.
