Cambodia's government desires the country to be upper-middle-income by 2030 and high-income by 2050. Prime Minister Hun Manet unveiled the Pentagonal Strategy, which focuses on five key areas: human capital development, economic diversification, private sector development, resilience, sustainability, inclusive development, and the digital economy and society. The strategy is divided into five phases, with the first focusing on roads, people, water, electricity, and technology. The National Assembly's (NA) five-year plan begins with long-term strengthening of the education sector and human capital, with 1.5 million people undergoing vocational training in the short term and two or three million in the next mandate. The government is addressing fundamental needs through physical and human capital development, infrastructure investment, reforms for long-term and inclusive growth, improvements in investment law, trade agreement implementation, and addressing the current slowdown in tourism, construction, and real estate.
