Cambodia’s target for emissions reductions of 41.7 percent by 2030 was set in Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) figures-a climate action plan to cut emissions and adapt to climate impacts. The government's Long-Term Strategy for Carbon Neutrality (LTS4CN) set a $1.4 billion annual budget that is mostly focused on energy, transportation, and forestry but rarely mentioned the use of Regenerative Agriculture practices within its agricultural goals. Regenerative Agriculture refers to a practice of farming and land use that aims to improve or restore the soil’s overall health, in turn, by restoring land, promoting soil health, and revitalizing the affected ecosystems. These practices potentially can play in sequestering carbon and helping to mitigate climate change, so that Cambodia's route to meeting its 2030 and 2050 climate goals will be accelerated (Downs, 2022).
