H.E. Dr. MEY Kalyan is a Cambodian economist and diplomat. He is currently a Senior Advisor to the Supreme National Economic Council (SNEC) of the Royal Government of Cambodia. He is also the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and the President of the Cambodia-Japan Association for Business and Investment (CJBI).
Dr. Kalyan received his PhD in Development Economics from Kobe University in Japan in 1984. He then worked as a Senior Economist for the UN/FAO-World Bank Cooperative Programme based in Rome, Italy for more than 20 years. In 2004, he returned to Cambodia and joined the SNEC. He has also served as a consultant to various international organizations, including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the United Nations.
Dr. Kalyan is a respected figure in Cambodia and has made significant contributions to the country's economic development. He is a strong advocate for economic cooperation between Cambodia and Japan. He is also a strong supporter of education and has worked to improve the quality of education in Cambodia.
