Japan intends to export fresh mangoes from Cambodia in exchange for technical support to aid the Kingdom's agricultural growth. Fresh mango export is on the agenda of a meeting between senior Cambodian and Japanese authorities. In the meeting, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Mikami Masahiro told Sakhon, Cambodia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries that numerous high-quality Cambodian agricultural goods have the potential to be marketed to worldwide markets, including Japan. “Cambodia and Japan will study the requirements for fresh mango exports to Japan,”, he added. During the meeting, Japanese Ambassador Mikami Masahiro mentioned that Cambodia's agricultural sector has been crucial in supporting economic growth, providing local employment, and producing income. Sakhon expressed appreciation for their continuous support for Cambodia's growth, particularly in the agricultural sector, through JICA.
