Minimum wages for garment and textile sector workers to rise to at least $200

Salary negotiations for garment and textile employees are expected to begin next month, with workers anticipating a minimum wage increase of at least $200 per month to correspond with current living expenditures and economy. According to Kaing Monica, Deputy Secretary-General of the Garment Manufacturers Association of Cambodia (GMAC), minimum wage negotiations should be based on seven realistic and official numbers criteria. He stated that in the future, all employees should endeavour to collaborate with employers on how to enhance labour productivity because only labour productivity helps industrial companies grow their revenue level.
