Japan’s Minebea hails local successes

MinebeaMitsumi Inc, a Japanese electronics company, displayed satisfaction with its sole Cambodian factory and its decade-long presence. MinebeaMitsumi CEO Yoshihisa Kainuma stated during a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen that the company's local factory exports 100% Cambodian-made LED light bulbs across the world. He added the company has installed 18,880 bulbs in the Kingdom alone, which has reduced electricity use, prices, and CO2 emissions by "approximately $1 million per year.". The Prime Minister stated that this is a wise decision for the company to invest in Cambodia. This is an indication that any companies who come to invest in Cambodia should have faith in it. According to Kainuma, the company's capital investment in Cambodia climbed from around $372 million in 2018 to $400 million in 2019.
