Despite a surge in Covid-19 cases, the country reported a rise in tourist numbers over the first weekend of August. Cambodia received 246,195 tourists from 6-7 August, including 21,202 foreigners and 224,993 domestics, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The most popular tourist destinations are Siem Reap (39,979 tourists), Preah Sihanouk (33,837 tourists), Kampot (33,461 tourists), Kep (20,057 tourists), Battambang (19,688 tourists), Phnom Penh (18,734 tourists), Kampong Speu (12,199 tourists), Pursat (11,999 tourists), and Kandal (11,085 tourists). According to this statistic, the country's tourist numbers increased by 11.43 percent over the previous week.
