The 24th meeting of the Cambodia-Japan joint committee was held under framework of the agreement for liberalization, promotion and protection of Cambodia-Japanese investment, providing opportunity for Japanese investors to raise challenges and suggestions to the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) to interpret and put out a win-win solution. In the meeting, the Japan Business Association of Cambodia (JBAC) pointed out to RGC to create better investment environments in all areas. Crucially, Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Secretary-General of the Council, indicated necessities of Cambodian Investment Law to help with legal documents to facilitate investment incentives and maintenance. By putting strong efforts from both countries, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 149 Japanese investment projects equal to $2.9 billion in August 2022.
