The number of new factories that have established in the Kingdom is an example of how the manufacturing sector has the ability to draw in investors and help the local economy go back to normal. The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training said that, as of July of this year, there were 15,859 factories, including both garment and non-garment enterprises, employing 1.54 million people, a growth of 16.8% year to date. For instance, a total of roughly 2 million individuals benefits from this industry, including the 830,000 workers employed directly by the garment factories and the other 1 million indirectly. According to a report from the General Department of Customs Excise, from January to June this year, the kingdom's exports totaled $6.6 billion.
