According to the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), the country's milled rice exports increased by 10.6% to 509,249 tons from January to October 2022. The kingdom earned $324 million from selling milled rice to 56 nations and regions. China was the biggest destination for milled rice exports from Cambodia throughout that time. A total of 179,073 tons of milled rice were acquired by 25 European Union countries, accounting for 35% of the export. Dith Tina, the minister of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, recently revealed intentions to increase the usage of premium rice seeds, according to the report. The goal is to increase the quality of rice produced in Cambodia for export by breeding varieties that are resistant to climatic changes, have high yields, and are low-cost, as stated by the minister.
