CQS to promote quality, safety of Cambodian fishery products

Even though fishery products are a major export for Cambodia, it has not been better to enter the competitive market yet. To contribute to maintain public health as well as to promote the expansion of the market, the Cambodia Quality Seal (CQS) certification system was initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and responded by the Department of Fisheries Administration under the technical assistance of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The CQS certification system will promote good hygiene practices, food safety and quality management systems, and add value to Cambodia’s fishery products. Based on domestic and foreign market demand, it is the first recognition system, designed to provide a food system in post-harvest fisheries sub-sector.
