Travel and tourism sector revival on course, rekindles hopes

As many countries across the world are agreeing to live with Covid-19 reality, so some of them have either eased or removed most restrictions; as a result, travellers seem to be getting ready to be back on planes. This was demonstrated by recent statistics from Cambodia, which showed that over 1.2 million international visitors came to the country between January and September of 2022, underscoring the indication of a revival in Cambodian tourism. According to the Ministry of Tourism, 1,040, 974 domestic tourists and 32,415 internal international visitors made up the 101.59% increase in domestic passengers. As a result of wise trade development policies, FTAs, and a high rate of Covid-19 immunization, the country will also expand at rates of 5.1% in 2022, 6.2% in 2023, and 6.6% in 2024, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
