During the latest Breakfast, organized by EuroCham Cambodia at Raffles Hotel Le Royal, panelists pointed out mobilization of $8.6 billion in Vietnam to support its energy transition. Addedly, they mentioned $32 trillion in assets of COP 27 was under carbon neutrality initiatives. Julien Chevillard, UNDP Chief Technical Adviser on Development and Climate Finance, raised that sooner or later Cambodia will switch to electric vehicles as the country prioritizes on carbon-free buses and electric motor vehicles. Within green growth development, the Cambodian government has been taking on several steps to accelerate green efforts such as investments in the grid to increase the uptake of variable renewable energy and increasing collaboration between ministries. In addition to achieving the goal, Minister of Public Works and Transport, Sun Chanthol, has urged private sectors to invest in electrical vehicle assembly plants in Cambodia.
