The Council of the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has accepted 150 investments projects totaling over $2.9 billion that were proposed by Japanese investors. Sok Chenda Sophea, the secretary general of CDC, and Atushi Ueno, the Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia arranged the 25th Cambodia-Japan Inter-committee Meeting. Several government members from various ministries, representatives of Japanese organizations and officials of Japanese companies in Cambodia attended the meeting. As mentioned in the release, shopping malls, automobile assembly plants, small scale motor production factories, electrical equipment or tool production factories and hospital are among the most notable projects that Japanese investors have so far in Cambodia. Ueno also pledged to collaborate with the government to promote and draw direct Japanese investments to Cambodia.
