The investment applications for 11 more enterprises that would add approximately 11,000 new jobs to the workforce in Cambodia have accepted by the Cambodia Investment Board (CIB) of the Council for the Development of Cambodia. Those new companies will have a total investment of $57.3 million with nine companies are in the garment, footwear and travel goods (GFT) sector. Also, a number of companies have approved by CDC to establish factories in the Sihanoukville special economic zone. With the efficient control of Covid-19, New Investment law of 2021 and trade preferences under free trade agreements with other countries and the mega trade pact- Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the kingdom continue to receive more and more investments.
