More than half of Cambodia’s 2022 exports are garments, footwear, and travel accessories

More than half of Cambodia’s total exports in 2022 were made up of garments, footwear, and travel accessories. As a report from the Ministry of Commerce in 2022, each value of exports including garments, footwear, and travel accessories increased all over 2021. According to the Cambodian Footwear Association president Ly Khun Thai, the garment sector has contributed significantly to the country’s economy and provided a large number of jobs for Cambodians. Currently, there are roughly 1 million workers working in factories all over the country. However, since the purchase orders did not rise early in 2023, garment exports may encounter some difficulties in 2023.
