The listed Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP) earned income at almost $130 million last year, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s report showed. According to HE Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, the growth was a reflection of the active throughput of the ports as a result of an increase in agricultural exports as well as the export of textile and apparel products. In order to increase efficacy, efficiency and transparency, and reduce cost the Ministry of Public Works and Transport has implemented a port Electronic Data Interchange (Port EDI) system at the PAS and PPAP, which is funded by Japan.
