A senior official at the Ministry of Economy and Finance claims that the Cambodian government continually implemented reforms to overcome the barriers to draw in more foreign direct investment (FDI). The sources for attracting FDI in Cambodia continue to raise a number of issues that the government needs to deal with. According to Vongsey Visoth, the Permanent Secretary State of the Ministry, “Cambodia needs to do everything possible to attract FDI to serve the goal of sustaining growth and to build the country to become stronger and be able to stand for long term. In order to promote investment to Cambodia, a new investment law was introduced in October 2021 with a purpose to protect investors in Cambodia.
