Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) president Uon Silot mentioned that a Japanese business delegation is expected to visit the kingdom this month to examine the potential conditions for planting and the quality of Cambodian cashew nuts, and explore possibilities for investing in areas such as cashew nut processing as well as the production of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) and charcoal. According to Silot, currently the average price of cashew nuts is 3,000-3,800 riels, depending on quality and region, marking a slight increase year-on-year. The CAC reported that Cambodia exported 670,000 tonnes of raw cashew nuts in 2022 with notable buyers included Vietnam, Japan, and China.
