$588M investment projects approved in four months

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved more than $588 million worth of investment projects in the first four months of 2023. China accounts for the majority of foreign direct investment (FDI) sources. Chea Vuthy, CDC’s Deputy Secretary General, claims that FDI has played a significant role in supporting economic growth, improving people’s lives, creating jobs, and boosting exports. He continued that Cambodia is an attractive destination for FDI due to natural resource, stability, and access to bilateral Free Trade Agreements including many major economic countries, the regional mega trade pact, and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
