The textile and garment industries are required to develop advanced skillsets in technical and soft skills to stay competitive. According to a news release by Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth, textile and garment sector is a significant export sector that has supported the political stability, and the lives of millions of people. Lean manufacturing and the adoption of the 5S model are two of many suggestions for creating an advanced skillset for the sector. Lean manufacturing and the 5S technique will help the use of resources stay sustainable and maintain their competitiveness in the global market. Moreover, the industry will also need to adapt IR 4.0 technologies.
