Nearly 300K Angkor tickets sold in Jan-Apr

In the first four months of 2023, a total of 298, 998 standard tickets for the Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province were sold to foreign tourists, bringing in $14,031 million, according to information from the state-owned firm in charge of Angkor income management. Last year, Cambodia had 2.277 million foreign tourists, increasing 11.59 times from 2021 but down 65.56 percent from the all-time high of 6.611 million in 2019. According to Khieu Thy, president of the Angkor Tourist Guide Association, even if the number of foreign tourists to Angkor Archaeological Park has increased significantly compared to the 2020–2022 period, they are still relatively low compared to before 2020, and tourism needs more time to recover.
