According to a news release from the Battambang Chamber of Commerce, the Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) encouraged rice mill owners to purchase rice from farmers at market rates through ARDB loan support. The Director-General of ARDB, Kao Thach, urged millers to buy rice from farmers as much as they could to support the lives of farmers and possibly to reach one million tonnes of rice export in the accordance with the government goal. He suggested all rice millers apply for additional loans from ARDB in case of a lack of funds, while the bank only requires some information to authorize a loan or secure the stockpile of rice.
