The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MIST) approved 58 new manufacturing factories, bringing the total number of active manufacturing factories to 1,999. Among these 1,999 factories, the garment, footwear, and travel goods industries are the largest source of the nation’s income. The newly founded factories produced a range of products, from garment to high-tech solar panels and electronic components. As Cambodia is currently receiving investments for vehicle assembly factories, the Premier underlined the need to increase technician and skilled labourer to attract new high end technology investment projects to the Kingdom.
