About 300 tonnes of durian in Samlot commune have reportedly already been cultivated, according to the provincial agriculture department of Battambang. The Monthong durian is the most expensive one among the other kind of durian in Battambang province. Heng Sithy, an expertise from the department stated that the harvesting of durian may end by July and it’s not significantly impacted by climate change. The main market for durian is Phnom Penh, supplemented by sale within Battambang Province as well as direct purchases from tourists who are physically visiting the farm in Samlot commune.
