Based on the survey report released by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), during the first six months of 2023, Cambodia earned around $331 million from bicycle export, a decrease of 30.52 percent compared to the same period in 2022. In 2022 the country earned over $505 million from the export of bicycles in the first sixth months, and the revenue earned up to $900 million by the end of the year. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and spokesperson of the ministry stated that the kingdom mainly exports bicycle to the United States, Germany, Belgium, Britain, and the Netherlands. However, it is believed that the investment to construct the factory will create many job opportunities as well as reduce the cost of spare part products benefiting the people across the kingdom.
