In 2023, the government will provide $150 million as a subsidy to Electricité du Cambodge (EDC) in order to stabilize electricity tariff and guarantee enough power supply for households and businesses as global energy prices remain high. EDC Director-General Keo Ratanak claimed that there is currently no scarcity of energy in Cambodia, He further explained that some power outages aren’t brought on by the lack of electricity but rather by the interruption of digging that comes in contact with power lines. With stable power, Cambodia is ready to fully serve foreign investors for their business operations, including industries, factories, enterprises, and households.
