The government seeks to increase cashew nut production, improve processing capabilities, expand export markets, and simplify trade facilitation initiatives. Through The National Policy on Cashew 2022-2027, Cambodia attempts to establish itself as a major producer and exporter of cashews. By adopting this program, Cambodia is anticipated to increase processing capacity from 5% to 25% by 2027 and to 50% by 2032. More than 90% of Cambodia’s raw cashew nuts are currently exported to neighboring countries for processing into finished products.
