Garment sector likely to continue its struggle

The prolonged global economic crisis, which harmed Cambodia’s garment sector in the first half of 2023, is likely to persist in the second half as well, according to the Textile, Apparel, Footwear, and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC). The exports decrease when demand decreases as a result of the slow economic expansion and competition from other countries that produce clothing. The president of TAFTAC, Kong Sang, said we have to adjust labor costs and productivity and continue to develop skills in this sector to maintain the stability of competitiveness.
