While efforts are being made to attract more airlines to the new facility with additional destinations, all 16 airlines currently operating out of the old airport in Siem Reap will continue to operate in the new airport when it opens in October, said Lu Wei, Chairman of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) at a seminar recently. He further briefly introduced the SAI airport’s strategy for luring more tourists and flights to the Kingdom. Moreover, future tourism possibilities for Cambodia were mostly centered on the Mekong River area, and focused on e-wallets, and online booking.
