Cambodia, World Bank to foster cooperation on skills for better jobs

The World Bank and Cambodia have pledged to advance their partnership in fostering the development of skills within the Cambodian labor force for greater employment possibilities. The agreement was made during a meeting between the World Bank’s Country Director for Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, and Mr. Heng Sour, the Minister of Labour Vocational Training. This initiative is essential for developing skills that are market-responsive and in keeping with Cambodia’s aim to train 1.5 million young people from poor and vulnerable backgrounds. The minister also reaffirmed that the ministry will keep up its close collaboration with the technical team of the World Bank in order to swiftly complete the Cambodia skill for better jobs project.
