NCDM says 1,084 tonnes of rice seeds are ready for replanting

The National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) has stocked 1,084 tonnes of rice seeds for farmers in 12 flood-affected provinces to help them restore damaged paddy fields. Floods from September 16 to October 16 have damaged 51,645 hectares of rice fields, affecting thousands of families. The 12 provinces are Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Preah Vihear, Pursat, Battambang, Kratie, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Pailin, Kandal, and Kampong Speu. The NCDM has already distributed 454 tonnes of rice seeds via the Cambodia Food Reserve System in these provinces, while six provinces including, Kampot, Kratie, Kampong Thom, Pursat, Tboung Khmum, and Battambang, are still reeling under flash floods.
