Cambodia's Prime Minister, Dr. Hun Manet, has defended the monthly minimum wage for garment workers at $204. The rise is insufficient for workers, but it represents a pledge from the Royal Government to alleviate the sector's detrimental impact. The increase of $4 may seem insignificant to our workers, but it poses a challenge for employers. In light of the current economic downturn, it is important for us to work together and support each other to overcome these difficulties, stated by Cambodia's Prime Minister, Dr. Hun Manet. The new monthly minimum wage for garment, footwear, and travel goods workers is $204 for next year, up from $200 in 2023 and $194 in 2022.
