The Cambodia Agriculture Survey 2023 (CAS 2023) is a comprehensive data collection initiative carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) and the National Institute of Statistics, Ministry of Planning (NIS-MOP), with technical assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The survey provides a detailed overview of Cambodia's agricultural landscape, including crop cultivation, livestock, and poultry raising, aquaculture, and capture fishing operations. The survey is part of the 50×2030 Initiative, which aims to bridge the agricultural data gap in 50 low and middle-income countries by 2030. The initiative provides countries with excellent and timely agricultural data, allowing them to make evidence-based decisions and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. The survey is critical to Cambodia's efforts to enhance its agricultural sector by assisting farmers, increasing production, and protecting the environment. Week-long training sessions took place in Phnom Penh to prepare employees for data collection.
