Dith Tina, Cambodia's agriculture minister, has welcomed cooperation in the agricultural sector, particularly in preventing and controlling contaminants and promoting sanitation and phytosanitary requirements. He discussed the government's agricultural policy of establishing modern farming communities and deploying 250 agricultural officials to selected communes. The ministry is looking for partners who can provide low-interest loans to assist agricultural communities in investing in economic stability and sustainability on key crops such as rice, cashews, and vegetables. Uon Silot, emphasized the importance of low-interest loans for local farmers and cashew processing businesses, citing the fact that 90% of the Kingdom's cashews are currently exported raw to Vietnam due to a lack of capital. The Manet administration has set aside $100 million to strengthen the agricultural sector, which includes mechanisms to coordinate finance programs and protect key crop markets.
