Per capita income tipped to pass 2k

Cambodia's per capita income is expected to exceed $2,000 in 2024, an increase of 8% from 2023. The GDP of the country is expected to be around 142.96 trillion riel ($34.92 billion), with a per capita GDP of $2,071. In the words of Hong Vanak, director of International Economics at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, the country's economic growth is the result of a significant influx of investment in all sectors. Despite an improving global economy, Cambodia's exports to international markets have shown encouraging growth. Former Prime Minister Hun Sen reflects on Cambodia's transformation from a war-torn country to a rapidly growing economy. Cambodia's international trade volume reached $42.5 billion in the first 11 months of 2023, with $20.49 billion in exports and $22 billion in imports.
