Japan has provided $154 million to support Cambodia's Regional Hospital Development project, aiming to accelerate socio-economic development. The signing ceremony of concessional loan agreements totaling 21.1 billion yen (approximately $154 million) was held at the foreign ministry headquarters in Phnom Penh on March 13, 2024. The support will strengthen the long-lasting ties and close cooperation between the two countries, which was upgraded to a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' in 2023. The signing is important for the Kingdom's health sector, which is one of the government's priority areas. The Cambodia-Japan relationship has deepened since their relationship was upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, with increased exchanges between senior leaders and abundant international support.
