The Association of Banks for Cambodia (ABC) is committed to encourage riel usage in Cambodia with a hope to strengthen economic sovereignty and growth, national identity and solidarity.The National Bank of Cambodia reported that the number of registered e-wallet accounts increased to 19.7 million with the total number of transactions of 601.3 million showing an increase of 28.7 percent in 2023. With the fact that digital payment systems have made it easier to process transactions, the ABC members call for the support of people to increase the usage of local currency in the national economy.
