Three provinces including Battambang, Kampong Speu and Kampong Thom were chosen as the target to develop Agri-Food Industrial Parks in order to promote agricultural production in Cambodia. The initiation of such parks was made by the Supreme National Economic Council, the finance ministry, and the Cambodia-Australia Agricultural Value Chain (CAVAC) to help expand export markets for Cambodian agricultural products. The Coordinating Committee for the Study and Development of Agri-Food Industrial Parks conducted a meeting with the participation from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, agriculture industry associations and other private companies to have a discussion on key information of value chain and mapping studies, as well as the challenges. In the first four months of this year, 4,040,704 tonnes of agricultural goods were produced, a 5.6% year-on-year increase, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
