CDC approves four projects worth $24 million

The Cambodian Development Council (CDC) has authorized four new projects worth $23.8 million to establish industries and create over 2,400 employments around the Kingdom. Mei An Leatherware (Cambodia) Company Limited will invest $10.5 million to develop a bag factory in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) and employ around 1,000 people. The CDC also granted Kai Feng Wood Products' (Cambodia) project to invest $6.6 million in producing wooden boards and hire 300 workers. On the other hand, Amto Chemical Technology will establish a factory in SSEZ to manufacture glue and paints, and will recruit around 150 workers. While Golden Sun Fashion Apparel has been approved for a $5 million investment to construct a garment factory in Pur Senchey district of Phnom Penh, with an intention to employ 926 employees. In the first four months of 2022, the CDC approved 52 fixed-asset investment projects worth $2.46 billion, with the goal of creating around 47,700 job opportunities.
