The Cambodia Garment, Footwear, and Travel Goods [GFT] Sector Development Strategies 2022–2027 were introduced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance with the goal of boosting sector independence while guaranteeing sustainability and inclusivity. According to Minister of Labour and Vocational Training Ith Samheng, this strategy will give the GTF sector in Cambodia a direction in becoming a more distinctive, competitive, value-added-driven, resilient, and environmentally sustainable industry. The General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE) reports that even before the plan was implemented, exports of clothing, footwear, travel accessories, and other textile-related products were on a significant development path, rising from $627.8 million to $3.155 billion in January-March.
