According to the data from the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC), the number of Internet subscribers has raised up to 17.872 million last year from 8.099 million in 2016, a 120 percent increase compared to 2016. The internet is becoming more widely used in Cambodia as more individuals start to incorporate technology into their everyday lives, including learning, shopping, and social media activity. To strengthen and expand mobile infrastructure and high-speed internet through the 4th generation mobile services (4G) and also to lay the foundation for the 5th generation mobile service (5G), Cambodian government had introduced the Digital Economy and Social Policy Framework of Cambodia 2021-2035 policy.
